Step-by-Step Guide to Signing Up for the BCS Examination Successfully

The BCS (Bangladesh Civil Service) examination is one of the top-ranking exams in Bangladesh, granting civil service jobs under the government. Each year, tens of thousands of aspirants vie for limited spots. To begin your journey, you must successfully finish the application process. Here’s a detailed guide to help you apply without hassle.

Step 1: Visit the Official Website

To begin your BCS application, visit the Bangladesh Public Service Commission website: www.bpsc.gov.bd. This is the sole portal for BCS exam announcements and applications. Stay cautious from unofficial websites.

Step 2: Download the Circular

Navigate to the latest BCS exam circular under the updates section. The circular provides necessary information, such as applicant guidelines, application deadlines, examination syllabus, and other critical instructions.

Step 3: Check Eligibility

Examine the guidelines, which include age limits, educational qualifications, and citizenship requirements. The typical age limit is from 21 to 30 years for general candidates, but exceptions can be granted for specific groups such as freedom fighters’ heirs or disabled individuals.

Step 4: Register Online

Navigate to the BCS Online Application Form (Form 1). Provide all compulsory fields, such as candidate details, academic qualifications, and job preferences. Review for any errors. Providing wrong information can lead to dismissal.

Step 5: Upload Documents

You must upload a fresh copyright-sized photograph (dimension of 300x300 pixels, file size below 100 KB) and your signature (with dimensions 300x80, file size below 60 kilobytes max). Ensure these comply with the requirements mentioned in the circular.

Step 6: Pay the Application Fee

After finishing the online form, you will be provided with a User ID. Use this ID to submit the application fee through Teletalk SMS services. The fee is usually BDT seven hundred for general candidates and BDT 100 for others. Follow the SMS format provided in the circular.

Step 7: Confirm Submission

Once the fee is paid, you will receive a confirmation SMS with a Transaction ID. Keep this ID for future reference. Log back into the application portal to confirm the payment status.

Final Tips

Submit your application well before the deadline to avoid last-minute errors.

Print a copy of the application summary for future use, such as for printing the admit card.

By complying with these processes, you can finalize your application for the BCS exam and advance toward your desired position in the Bangladesh Civil Service. Wishing you success!
